Good pick up for the Hornets getting another ex-epl player on board and hopefully he'll thrive with the ice time he'll get next season.

It mentions that only one spot is left which I assume must be the import then ?!!

Who have the Hornets signed so far as I thought they needed more players unless I missed some announcements at some point ??

Any idea of the likely lines for the coming season ??

do we assume its 1 more signing plus juniors playing up and a back up netty? (petchey?)

Austin will be a quality player in the ENL, easily epl standard.

I would have thought the Bees could have signed him as IMHO he is a better player than Ben Johnson, but he may not have been "in the market" when the Bees were recruiting.

Bobblehat, I think you’ll be surprised by BJ. He has developed well in the Hornets and was outstanding last season. He is ready for the step up and IMHO, is now a better player than Austin. I would say Austin could benefit in the same way, from a couple of seasons in the ENL.

I think it’s another good signing. It’ll be interesting to see who the second import is, but Hornets don’t look too bad to me. A lot depends on Pitchly. With the team they have, I would be confident of another good season with Cox at the helm. Pitchly is more of an unknown at this level. I look forward to seeing how he does

Excellent signing for the Hornets.

Welcome from the dark side Mr.Austin, another player who will improve with more ice time, and along with Messr's House and Martyn another who has the undoubted opportunity of returning to the EPL in the very near future.

I think the new look Hornets could surprise quite a few next season.

Who is the better Ben? One is stepping up one is stepping down?

Difficult to ascertain but in the long run I think both the Bees and Hornets will be happy.

Ben J's confidence and positioning under Coxy improved big time and I think next season he will feel he deserves (and is worth) a starting spot in the Bees, this was probably not the case first time round.

Ben A will probably like to prove quite a few wrong. A good year at the Hornets will see him in line for a move upto the Bees, where again his confidence (and more ice time) will see him return to the EPL a more complete player.

I know the hornets still have an import to sign yet but has anyone heard whether Mark Gallazzi will be back this season, he'd be a massive signing for the Hornets giving them some much needed experience and he was quality last season and would be a huge loss if he didn't return ??

I would expect that the only reason Mark dusted off his skates last year was the fact he was asked by James and the draw to play in a winning team with his brother was difficult to turn down.

If Mark plays at all this year I would guess the Bees would have more of a chance than the Hornets? However, Mark would be a massive signing for either the Bees or the Hornets imo.

I believe Mark is unable to commit this season. I don't know the full details, but I think he was looking to move house, which may have been work connected, I'm not sure. If it fell through, there was a good chance he would sign for Bees. If not, he would not be back at all.

Shame. He would have been a big signing for the Bees
